It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear friend and colleague
Professor Julian Maliszewski
passed away on 11 January 2020.
Renowned scholar, long-time professor of the Faculty of Modern Languages at the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa, founder and head of business English studies; founder, head and professor of the Chair of Business English at the Faculty of Management at the Czestochowa University of Technology; outstanding scholar and specialist, author of numerous publications in the field of translation and interpreting studies, English, German and Russian literature and linguistics, applied linguistics, didactics, specialized translation and languages, international trade law; certified translator of English, German, Russian and Dutch; musicologist, musician and passionate music fan; member of the International Federation of Translators (FIT), member of TEPIS Polish Association of Certified and Specialized Translators; supervisor and reviewer of numerous doctoral and postdoctoral theses; inspiring teacher and academic; our dear friend and colleague.
Funeral services will take place on 16 January 2020 (Thursday) at 11.00 AM in the cemetery in Opole-Grudzice, ul. Strzelecka 5.
The passing of Professor Julian Maliszewski is an irreparable loss for the academic community of the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa.
We will keep Professor in our grateful memory for his enormous contribution to the scientific development of literary and linguistic research in Poland as well as for the effort in educating generations of language and literature scholars, business English specialists and the academic staff of many Polish universities.
