INDIAN CULTURE DAYS IN NYSA, 6-7.11.2015

The Polish Desk of the EuroIndia Centre at the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa, in collaboration with the Indo-European Education Foundation in Warsaw and Nysa Municipality have a pleasure to invite you to participate in forthcoming Indian Culture Days in Nysa, which will take place from 6 to 7 November 2015 in Nysa.

The event will be held under the honourable patronage of His Excellency Mr. Ajay Bisaria, Ambassador of India to Poland and Lithuania.

On the first day of the event a conference for invited guest will be held, to celebrate and discuss the long-time cooperation between India and Poland in the fields of education, science, culture and economy. It will take place in the Assembly Hall of the UAS in Nysa, at Regional Centre for Knowledge Transfer and Innovative Technology in Nysa, 5 Obrońców Tobruku Street. During the conference their lectures and discussion will have representatives of prestigious and prominent institutions of Indo-Polish cooperation, including Embassy of India in Warsaw, Indo-European Education Foundation, Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry and others. It will be an excellent occasion both for our University and Nysa town to make profitable contacts with Indian partner institutions and to establish a fruitful and long term educational, cultural and economic cooperation.

The following day, on 7 November 2015 (Saturday), in Cultural Community Centre in Nysa (Nyski Dom Kultury, NDK) from 12:00 till 6:00 p.m. will be organized an cultural event for Nysa's inhabitants and invited guests, with many attractions related to the vast and rich Indian culture, such as dance performances, various workshops, photos exhibition, presentation of wearing sari, henna tattoos, oriental make-up, degustation of Indian cuisine, attractions for children and many others. One of our most eminent guests will be Mrs. Anna Kalata - former Minister and Vice-President of IPCCI. The lecture about their book and experiences from traveling to India will also give: Mrs. Joanna Grzymkowska-Podolak and Mr. Jarosław Podolak - journalists and travelers, authors of the book "Fall in Love with the World. India" and representatives of "Children of the Orient - Sylka Rayska Foundation". On the stage of NDK we will see also several performing dance groups. Among them will be Mayura Indian Dance Group.

Crowning of the Indian Culture Days in Nysa will be colorful and beautiful dance performance of Gujarat Art Academy -Indian dance group from Gujarat, India - An Institution for Dance, Drama & Music. It will take place from 4 p.m. till 6 p.m. on the main stage of NDK. Our town had already a privilege to guest the Group during Folk Fiesta Festival.

Earlier that day, from 9:00 till 11:00 a.m. will take place Indian dance contest for children. The winner group will have a chance to perform during the main event as well.

Polish Desk of the EuroIndia Centre in Nysa, operating since last year at the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa, is a branch of the EuroIndia Centre in France. Our mission is promoting and disseminating information about India and its culture in Nysa, our region and Poland.

Last year Polish Desk of the EuroIndia Centre organized the EuroIndia Days in Nysa. It met with a great interest of Nysa's inhabitants. We wish to repeat the success of our event from the last year. Thus we would be most honored welcome Nysa's inhabitants. Participation in the event is free of charge.

On 4th and 5th November we also sincerely invite you to visit our Indian Tent, which will be located in the centre of the town, on the square in front of the Cathedral, each day from 4 p.m. till 6p.m. There you could have a chance to taste Indian tea - chai, taste Indian food, have your name written in Hindi language, listen to Indian music and get henna tattoo.
