                                              A guest lecture by Professor Emerson Case of California State University

In May, the Faculty of Neophilology at the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa began a series of training sessions on constructivist techniques in teaching. The training with lecturers from the USA and Germany take place as part of the POWER 3.5 project 2nd edition and will last until December 2021.

The lectures for English majors are taught by Professor Emerson Case, who is a lecturer in the Department of English, CSU, Bakersfield. The university is one of twenty-three campuses of California State University. It is the largest public university system in the United States that offers four-year educational programs.

Professor Case has been a linguist and teacher of English for thirty-one years. In his career, he has taught students from over fifty different countries. The classes are mainly concerned with sociolinguistic and sociocultural aspects. Students learn how to understand the Cooperative Principle and which factors play a pragmatic role in learning a foreign language.
